From the 17 to 19 of July, UN ESCAP and UN-Habitat organized an Interactive Training on Pro-poor, Urban Climate Resilience in Asia-Pacific, at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok, Thailand.
It was a 3-day workshop with the objective to introduce young professionals to issues of pro-poor,urban climate resilience in the region using participatory and experiential training methods.
The training workshop included a simulation game on multi-stakeholder negotiations to incorporate climate resilience and adaptation into a municipal land use and development plan. Prior to the simulation, other short interactive methods and presentations gave participants background understanding on the topic.
The training enabled participants to strengthen their skills to analyze and plan policies and activities in a context of uncertainty and of dynamic, complex systems and to experience a multi-stakeholder negotiation setting.
