The Asian City Journalist Conference is held jointly by UN-HABITAT ROAP, Nishi Nippon Newspaper, inviting distinguished journalists from Asian cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dalian, Busan, Bangkok, Jakarta, Hoh Chi Min, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, and Singapore. The Conference aims to discuss the urban sustainability agenda, from sustainable transportation, urban safety, to broader topics such as addressing the urban divide, and to clarify the roles, responsibilities and further possibilities of the media.
The conference focused on ”Sustainable Cities and Communities” – Situations of Solid Waste Management and localization of SDGs -. Besides sharing information on the state of Asian Cities and their problems in terms of urbanization, we also shared the Habitat III related issues, such as New Urban Agenda and International Guidelines on Urban and Territorial Planning and so on.
