Inauguration Ceremony of Partnership for Urban Poverty Reduction Project in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

On 29 May 2004, the Inauguration Ceremony of Partnership for Urban Poverty Reduction Project in Phnom Penh - Phase II (FS/CMB/04/S01) was held at the Phnom Penh Municipality. Honorable Kep Chuk Tema, Governor of Phnom Penh; Honorable Fumiaki Takahashi, Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia; Mr. Toshiyasu Noda, Director, Regional Office for Asia and Pacific, UN-HABITAT; and Ms. Mari Christine, UN-HABITAT Goodwill Ambassador attended the ceremony. The Project is funded through the United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security.

UN-HABITAT Supported Kabul Municipality with a New District Building

UN-HABITAT has been providing a range of support to all the key municipalities in Afghanistan in their effort to serve the growing population. Kabul Municipality has been a principal recipient of such support. As a part of this assistance, Kabul Municipality has now District Office buildings in 11 out of its 17 Districts.
Recently, the handing over ceremony of yet another District Office building for District 17 was concluded on 17 August 2004. The construction of this building started in February 2004 with the total cost of US$35,860.
