29/11/10-3/12/10

The CLGF Pacific office is conducting a 5-day Gender in Local Government Regional Training of Trainers from 29 November to 3 December. The purpose of the training is to establish a core group of facilitators from across the Pacific region with the capacity to develop locally adapted gender training materials which will be used to train local government councillors, managers and practitioners and assist them in reviewing existing local policy and formulating gender action plans.

UN-HABITAT’s Gender in Local Government: A Sourcebook for Trainers is the key resource for this training (and can be downloaded from http://www.unhabitat.org/pmss/listItemDetails.aspx?publicationID=2495). The Training will be held as part of activities around the '16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence Campaign'.

Representatives from the Cook Islands, Kiribati, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu shall be participating.
