Background
Within the framework of UNDP's SPPD support, UN-HABITAT Fukuoka with the active support of the Urban Management Programme, South Asia was engaged in assisting UNDP India in developing urban projects for their next five year country programme (2003-2007). Their themes were broadly to focus on issues of urban livelihood and on matters of urban governance.
